KEIGHLEY Cougars have suffered an injury blow, with the news that prop Dalton Desmond-Walker broke his hand in Sunday's League One defeat to Workington Town.
Desmond-Walker joined Cougars towards the end of 2019, after spending two years at West Wales Raiders, and was a regular fixture in head coach Rhys Lovegrove's side during pre-season.
He started in the narrow Challenge Cup defeat to Newcastle Thunder on February 15 and came off the interchange bench to play a part against Workington.
Sadly, Desmond-Walker picked up his injury during the game, and following scans at Airedale Hospital later that evening, X-rays confirmed the worst.
There is no news as yet about how long the big prop is expected to be out of action for, but he will almost certainly miss Keighley's next game, a League One clash at Rochdale Hornets this Sunday.
