COUGARS have received a boost ahead of the new season, with the news that prop Jack Arnold has seen the remainder of his suspension wiped out.

Technically, Arnold had been banned for over 18 months, having been found guilty of a Grade E gouging offence against Hunslet in August 2019.

A lengthy suspension followed, ruling him out of the remainder of that season, as well as the handful of games they were able to play in 2020.

He still had time left to serve, but this morning, the RFL officially confirmed that, due to Covid-19, Arnold will receive an amnesty from the remainder of his suspension.

It means he is free to play immediately, good news given that Cougars have two matches this month, a friendly against Bradford and a Challenge Cup clash against London Broncos.
