KEIGHLEY Cougars' historian John Pitchford has confirmed that those who took to the field for the game away at the London Skolars on Sunday, May 3, 2015 will have the fixture included in their club and career statistics.
The game against the Skolars on the day was abandoned following the tragic death of Danny Jones.
However, both Pitchford and Neil Ormston of the Record Keepers Club include the game in those who played that fateful day’s records due to it being partially played.
Dan Spencer, statistician at the Rugby Football League, has now agreed with the pair that the game should be included in those players’ totals.
This decision has been taken following a six and half year process, which has seen numerous discussions take place between the trio.
As a result of this, James ‘Buster’ Feather moves on to 342 appearances for the club and now only requires one more game for Keighley Cougars to equal the appearance record of 343 currently held by Phil Stephenson.
The complete list of amendments is as follows:
APPEARANCE ADDED: Hamish Barnes; Neil Cherryholme; James Feather; Andy Gabriel; Paul Handforth; Danny Jones; Scott Law; Ash Lindsay; David March; Paul March; Ryan Patchett; Oliver Pursglove; Brendon Rawlins; Jesse Sheriffe; Jode Sheriffe; Rikki Sheriffe; Paul White.
TRY ADDED: Paul March; Brendon Rawlins
GOALS ADDED: Paul Handforth (x2)
