SILSDEN Whitestar First missed the opportunity to return to the top of the Craven League Premier Division table after being held to a 3-3 draw by fellow title-chasers Grassington United First.

Whitestar made the dream start, with a Chris Wademan hat-trick giving them a healthy half-time lead, but Grassington battled back to rescue a point thanks to goals from Josh Metcalfe and Josh Green.

Max Foxcroft also scored a hat-trick as Trawden Celtic Juniors beat struggling Bingley Town 4-2, whilst Crosshills First remain rooted to the foot of the table after falling to a 3-1 defeat at home to Cowling First.

With Silsden Whitestar Reserves’ match at iPlay First postponed, the only game in Division 1 saw Chatburn First record their first win of the season at home to Salts 3rds.

Leading 1-0 at the interval, the hosts ran riot in the second half, with doubles from Nathan Galloway and Rob Lloyd helping them to a comfortable 5-1 victory.

Division 2 leaders Padiham Juniors maintained their 100% record after comfortably beating Skipton Town Reserves 4-0, with Mason Hughes and Rhys Meehan both finding the back of the net for the hosts.

Goals were also flowing for Sutton First in a 6-2 win at Cowling Reserves, with Scott Russell’s hat-trick and Jack Sedgwick’s brace the highlights, whilst Ben Speak and Sam Holmes both scored twice as Barnoldswick Barons Senior Open Age drew 3-3 with Otley Town 3rds.

The match between Hellifield Sports and Crosshills Reserves was cancelled.

In Division 3, Jake Walker, Josh Aldham, George Blackwell, and Sean Kildunne were on target as Sutton Reserves got off the mark with a 5-3 victory against Bingley Town Reserves.

Elsewhere, FC Keighley United Open Age profited from Settle United’s 2-2 draw with iPlay 2nds, opening up a two-point gap at the top of the table after winning 4-2 at home to Addingham Reserves.      REPORT BY EMMA KENNEDY
