DENHOLME have been demoted from Division One in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League following defeat at champions Bingley Congs on the final day.

Congs made 196, with the wickets being shared by Ryan Clark (3-42), Ben Burkill, pictured, (3-32) and Toby Priestley (3-35). Burkill (31) and Adrian Shires (25) then gave the visitors some hope but Clark was left high and dry on 44 not out as they closed on 138.

Denholme were then reliant on both Haworth Road Meths and Sutton losing, but both won to jump above the Keighley Road side and send them down.

Sutton hosted Wilsden but the visitors could only make 126 after winning the toss. The home side, who remarkably won five of their last five matches to survive by six points, then relied on tried and trusted opening bats Snowden and Sam Solley. They put on an unbroken stand of 131 in 25 overs to help their team win by 10 wickets.

Fourth-placed Haworth may not have retained their title but finished on a high, defeating derby rivals Oakworth by 72 runs.

Basement boys Ingrow finished a poor campaign by being dismissed for 46 at home to Meths who won by nine wickets in just 9.1 overs.

In Division Two, Silsden blew their chance of promotion in a thrilling derby at home to Bradley. The hosts were 112-4 but lost their last six wickets for just 27.

That defeat gave Eldwick & Gilstead the chance to overtake them, and the twin villages took it by beating Skipton CI by 124 runs.
