STEETON are third in Airedale & Wharfedale League Division Two following a seven-wicket win over Bardsey.

Batting first, Bardsey were dismissed for 228 all out from 49.3 overs. Opener Henry Wainman top scored for Bardsey with 49 from 47 deliveries.

His impressive innings included four fours and four sixes. Yasar Ali was not too far behind with 48 from 51 balls, including six fours and a six. Jack Wasley also chipped in with 39 from 51 balls.

Ben Hemsley was the pick of Steeton’s bowlers as he finished with figures of 5-73 from his 15-over spell which also featured three maidens.

Stephen Pearson was also impressive with the ball as he ended up with 3-45 from his 12.3-over stint.

Paul Quinlan (1-35) grabbed the other wicket to fall.

In reply, Steeton reached their target in 40 overs as they scored 230-3.

Opener Ben Hemsley scored 68, while fellow opener Matthew Nutter also scored 48.

Luke Chapman finished unbeaten on 37, while James Robinson ended the Steeton innings on a half-century.

Jack Ramage was the other batsman who scored 11 from 10 deliveries.

The victory saw Steeton grab 20 points, while Bardsey took home six points. It also continued Steeton’s impressive start to the season, with seven wins from their opening 10 league games.
