Steeton are just five points off the top of Division Two in the Aire-Wharfe League, as their promotion charge continued on Saturday with a thumping eight-wicket win over Olicanian.

The Waddilove Cup finalists had to beat the weather too, and their game was one of only three to be completed in the second-tier.

In the 23 overs per side encounter, Olicanian posted 121-6, as Ben Hemsley (2-23) and Paul Quinlan (2-27) kept them in check.

Steeton have plenty of firepower with the bat too, and they breezed home in 18 overs, with Bradley Akrigg and Hemsley hitting 39 not out and 38 not out respectively.

Harden are streaking clear at the top of Division Three and look likely to get promoted back to the second tier at the first attempt.

Theirs was the only game to see a result in the division on Saturday, as they thumped Skipton by 97 runs.

A good start by their top order, led by captain Andy Wear (36) and keeper Tom Stordy (32), helped Harden to 130-4, but they then slid to 141-7 and 191-9.

But a fine 41 from No.9 Romil Butt saw them close on 227 all out, before the bowling attack got to work.

Skipton started brightly as their opening pair put on 50, but they then collapsed to be 130 all out.

Butt backed up his batting heroics with 4-12, while opening bowler Matthew Hogg took 3-38.
