CROSSFLATTS, who split their matches with Keighley in the Bradford Premier League this season, defeated their rivals in the Keighley Cup final at Lawkholme Lane.

The Ryshworth Park men were asked to bat first and made 181-4, Dom Bennett carrying his bat for 73.

The latter, who won the Player of the Day award, then took 3-31 after giving the keeping pads to Joe Hicks, with Keighley closing on 167-8.

In the semi-finals, Keighley defeated Steeton by five wickets in a clash of weakened sides, after the Aire-Wharfe League side had been dismissed for 89.

In contrast to how the final went, Bennett was dismissed by the first ball of Crossflatts’ semi-final against Cullingworth, who won the toss and chose to field.

However, the innings was turned around by an unbeaten third-wicket stand of 165 between Joe Greenwood (78 not out from 55 balls, including 12 fours and a six) and Tinashe Gomwe (89no from 57 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes), with the innings ending on 194-2.

Cullingworth replied with 149-5.
