A 13-year-old Silsden girl has been selected to join the Blackburn Rovers Centre of Excellence.
Bethany Millgate, who played for Silsden Girls U-14s last season, is no stranger being noticed by big ladies football clubs.
Her mum Kirsti Millgate said: “She was scouted to go for a Leeds United Ladies trial. She stayed with them for a year and eventually joined Silsden nine months ago.”
Her performances were so good last season that her manager Andy Holland put Bethany forward for the trials with Blackburn.
Bethany said: “I am so proud of myself getting selected as trials were hard and there was a lot of talent.
“I would like to thank Andy Holland for all his support and encouragement. I am now determined to work hard and reach my dream of being in the England Ladies squad.”
According to Kirsti, her daughter definitely has the talent.
“Bethany’s renowned around Silsden as the only girl who can do 700 kick-ups with stopping.
