A 33-run win at Beckwithshaw saw Steeton remain two points clear at the top of Division One.

The recent wet weather meant it was never going to be a run-fest as the Summerhill Laners scored 167 all out from 50 overs.

Skipper Neil Spragg scored 28, while their top scorer was John Akrigg, who notched 51 from 78 balls, with seven fours.

Former Steeton player Stuart Hudson (3-48) did what no bowler has managed this season in dismissing Australian David Wildsmith (2) for a low score. That brought his average down to 82!

The pick of the bowlers when Beckwithshaw replied was again Richard Craddock, who finished with 4-50 from 15 overs.

James Emmott took 2-19 from ten overs, Spragg weighed in with 2-33 and wicket-keeper Dominic Bennett was in great form with three catches and no byes. Beck-withshaw fell 33 runs short on 134 all out.

In Division Two, Richard Wear took 7-31 for Harden as hosts Pool were restricted to 195 but the visitors were skittled out for only 77. Silsden’s game in Division Three at Alwoodley was called off due to rain.

Steeton II (116 all out) were thrashed by Beckwithshaw II (117-1), while Silsden II (114-8) held on for a point at home to Alwoodley (157-5).
