Division One A superb unbeaten century from Jamie Rowell helped Haworth keep up the pressure on leaders Haworth Road.

The second-placed Bronte side were in sparkling form at Thornton as they stormed to a ten-wicket success.

The hosts had posted a creditable 171-8, with evergreen Kevin Pollard making 78 and Rob Foster 31 as Rowell took 3-38.

The reply was stunning as Rowell made a chanceless 110no (four sixes and 13 fours) in 103 balls.

Peter Gower (48no) provided good support as Haworth romped home in the 34th over.

Leaders Haworth Road grabbed the points by the skin of their teeth at Ingrow.

The Baildon Bottom side made a modest 148, with Mohammed Zahid making 40 and Josh Crookes 34 as Ian Roberts claimed 4-48.

The Hainworth outfit’s reply was always on track and, at 139-6, were heading for victory.

Opener and skipper Mark Price was trying to marshall the tail but he ran out of partners just six runs short of the target.

Price finished on 72 not out as Zahid rounded off an impressive all-round display with 5-63 off 22 overs.

Third-placed Crossflatts just hung on at home to Cullingworth.

In a 30 overs per side game, the Roydwood Terrace side were dismissed for 91, with Josh Evans making 39no as Feyaz Akram took 4-30.

In reply, Graham Rankin bowled his heart out, taking 6-31 off 12.3 overs, but the hosts got to the line with three wickets to spare.

Another batsman in cracking form was Oakworth’s Paul Spragg, who hit a superb 112no (nine sixes and nine fours) as the Wide Lane side posted 206-5 before declaring in the 43rd over.

Visitors Bingley Congs were brushed aside for 110, with Neil Copping making 55 as Michael Scarborough took 5-23 in 6.5 overs.

Rain meant there was no play in the Airedale versus Bradley or Barrowford versus Embsay games.

Division Two With top two Ingrow St John’s (home to Glusburn) and Sutton (home to Foulridge) rained off, there was a chance for third-placed Oakworth II to take advantage.

However, they failed to capitalise as they went down by 40 runs at Wilsden.

Gareth Wright (49) and Steve Wright (38) helped the Shay Gate side to 149-8 before Ben Peirson (6-46) and Dave Hahn (4-40) put the skids under the Wide Laners, who were dismissed for 109.

The other games – Long Lee v Sandy Lane, Cowling v Cowling and Riddlesden v Pendle – were all lost to the conditions.

Division Three Leaders Barrowford II were thwarted by the conditions at Embsay II, while Eldwick & Gilstead versus Chatburn and Skipton CI against Denholme also bit the dust.

Ingrow St John’s nipped into fourth spot after they won by three wickets at Haworth Road II.

Rehan Ahmed (31) helped the home side to 143-9 as Q Khaksar took 3-20 and M Attiq 3-46. The Saints were on the ropes at 89-7 before S Hussain (55no) and Khaksar (24no) took them to the points with an undefeated 57 partnership for the eighth wicket.

There was mayhem at Culling-worth II where Crossflatts II were the visitors. In a 35 overs per side game, the Bradford Road side plundered an amazing 306-7, with Craig Durn making 95 and Michael Bailey 64.

The shell-shocked hosts replied with 120, of which Russell Hogg made 34.

Haworth WE beat Gargrave by 22 runs in a low-scoring game at Skipton Road.

Division Four In the clash of the top two at Wagon Lane, Wilsden II saw off the challenge of Bradford & Bingley III by six wickets.

The home side were hustled out for 60, with Rob Greenwood taking 4-33 and Adrian Stafford-Bennett 3-5. S Mahmood scored 41no for the winners, who reached their target in the 15th over.

Bingley Congs II’s Michael Baines took 6-18 to help visitors Riddlesden II back to the hut for a paltry 45 in a seven-wicket triumph.

Jan Haider (82) and John Day (42) helped Long Lee II to 205-7 at Sandy Lane II before Mick Hawkes (5-26) and Neil Kennedy (4-12) saw the Greenwood Park side succumb to 44 all out.

Division Five Cowling II missed the chance of extending their lead after they lost by seven wickets at home to Thornton II after being dismissed for just 61.

They are joined at the top by Pendle Forest II, who were unable to play at home to Oakworth III.

Haworth WE II’s Peter Hatton starred as his team saw off Gargrave II by 78 runs at Penistone Park.

He scored 78 to help the Bronte side to 194-9 before taking 3-46 as the visitors were dismissed for 116.
